The Atelier Announces Official Grand Opening Celebration on April 11th; Final Resident Artist Studios Remaining

SACRAMENTO, CA – April 2nd, 2026

Now Enrolling: The Play Atelier

Registration is now live for The Play Atelier, featuring process-led experiences that celebrate the creative journey over the final product. Offerings include:

Toddler Art Play: Reggio-inspired sensory exploration for the city’s youngest creators.
Homeschool Art Club: A creative boost for alternative curricula, focusing on art history and diverse mediums.
Art Happenings: Participatory events for adults and makers that replace rigid “lessons” with high-quality mediums and open-ended prompts.

Call for Artists: Resident Studios & Memberships

The Atelier is currently seeking professional artists for its Resident Artist Studios. This unique residency offers:

The No-Commission Model: Residents keep 100% of all gallery sales.
Guaranteed Solo Shows: A professional platform for residents to connect with collectors annually.
Creative Coworking: Registrations are also open for communal memberships, providing artists, digital creators, and writers access to shared worktables, a lounge, and amenities.

“We are building a supportive home for Sacramento’s Artists and Culturemakers” says the team at The Atelier. “By opening registrations and studio applications now, we are inviting the community to help us shape this space before our doors even open on March 14th.”

Grand Opening Celebration

The Atelier, Midtown Sacramento’s newest bridge between professional artistry and community play, is thrilled to announce its official Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, April 11th. Located at 2118 19th Street, the event invites the public to step inside the “yes-centered” environment where artist labor is visible, valued, and celebrated.

“Our mission is to build a supportive home for Sacramento’s creators,” says Jenna Harris, Director of The Atelier. “On April 11th, we open our doors to show the city what happens when you prioritize the creative process as much as the final product.”

Meet our inaugural Resident Artists.
Tour the Wet and Semi-Private Studios.
Explore The Play Atelier classrooms and view upcoming schedules for Toddler Art Play and Homeschool Art Club.
