BETSY GILL’S "LIVING WITH ART" SOLO EXHIBITION OPENS AT THE ATELIER SACRAMENTO, CA
After decades of creating in the Rocky Mountains, abstract painter and found-art sculptor Betsy Gill has traded snow-filled winters for the vibrant creative energy of Northern California.

Now calling Midtown Sacramento her creative home, Gill will debut her first CA solo exhibition, Living with Art, at the Atelier Gallery from June 2 through June 25, 2026. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 13, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Living with Art serves as a visual diary of transition, energy, and reinvention. The exhibition focuses on her latest body of work: the Orbriant series—dynamic, gestural paintings that visually map the movement of energy across the universe.
In sharp contrast to her large-scale abstract paintings, the exhibition also highlights Gill’s distinct passion for found art. By rescuing discarded, everyday objects and recontextualizing them into unexpected artworks, Gill injects a sense of humor and joy into the gallery and lounge spaces. Her work challenges viewers to slow down and notice how Living with Art affects their everyday life and spaces.
“Moving to Sacramento opened up a brand new chapter for my work,” says Gill, who now creates out of her studio at the Atelier. “The light, the community, and the sheer grit of the Midtown art scene have found their way onto the canvas. This show is about celebrating the art that urrounds us every day, whether it’s an expansive energetic force or a forgotten object on the sidewalk.”
