Art Happenings at The Atelier
A Space for Creative Play & Process-Led Discovery
At The Atelier, we’ve traded traditional art lessons for something more personal. We call them Art Happenings. Instead of everyone painting the same sunset, we provide the space, high-quality materials, and a creative prompt to get you started. From there, your intuition takes over.
Whether you’re a lifelong creator or haven’t picked up a brush since grade school, our Happenings are about the joy of making something that belongs entirely to you.
Why Choose a Art Happening?
Led by a professional, an Art Happening is a invitation to skip the “step-by-step” and explore through open-ended prompts where your unique process is the masterpiece.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do I need to be an "artist" or have prior experience to join?
A. Not at all! Our sessions are designed for all skill levels, from total beginners to seasoned creatives. Our instructors focus on low-pressure techniques and creative play, so you can enjoy the process.
Q. Are materials provided, or do I need to bring my own?
A. For most guided sessions (like Watercolor Weeknight or DIY Printmaking), all essential materials are included in your registration. For 2D Open Studio or Accountability Project Night, we encourage you to bring the specific project and tools you are currently working with. We will always list any suggested items in the session description.
Q. Where is the studio located and what are the session times?
A. We are currently putting the finishing touches on our physical space! We will be located at 2118 19th street in Midtown, Sacramento and most classes will be held on weekday evenings and Saturday afternoons to fit into a busy schedule. Full class availability will be sent to our mailing list very soon.
Q: What if we miss a class?
A. Let us know 48 hrs in advance and we can refund your ticket.
